Saturday we took on Llangwm. It was to be the second time this season we played home. The weather on the day was fairly dry, but it had been wet leading up to the game and it was going to be a muddy afternoon. The new score board was to be tested for the first time and it was going to be a busy day for Billy Pearce, Laugharne's answer to Carol Vorderman and Rachel Riley. Who would be the official score board operator for the day.
From the kick off our boys were hungry for tries and it wasn't long before new signing Adam Davies (my daughter's boyfriend) went over for a try. Our pack who always play well were providing the goods in the set pieces and the backs were passing the ball around like in was a summers day!!! Eight minutes after the first try BOOM!! Adam Davies (my daughter's boyfriend) snipes over for another. Unfortunately Jameson was unable to convert any of the two tries due to the muddy conditions. However this was to change after the pack drove over the line and number eight, Mikey touched down for our third try. This was converted by Jameson. And a few minutes later the ref blew for half time. Llangwm managed two penalties in the first half, bringing the half time score to 17 - 6.
The game got restarted fairly quickly as the light was fading. Time to turn up the heat and this half Billy was going to be busy. First to score (after three minutes from the restart)was Tomos Davies, which was great to see as he has been playing so well this season and is on top of his game. 5 minutes later after some great runs down the line our left wing Will Evans goes over (another player on top of his game). Time for the forwards to get in on the act and second row Carl Smith (this weeks birthday boy, so he is allowed to put in some cheeky kicks over the top) smashed his way over for a nice try close into the posts which Jameson converted. The boys were on fire and Llangwm didn't have anything to come back at us with.
Next up was Tom Tom who was running some great lines all through the game and it was good to see him rewarded for his efforts. The try was duly converted by Jameson. Last try of the day was to be had by winger Antonio Setaro who had some superb runs down the line having come on in the second half for Will. The whole side were perfect in their play. But with the light fading the ref blew up 15 minutes early. Final score 46 - 6 to us. A good day in the muddy office. Thanks to The team and coaching staff for a great result.
Thanks to our Physio Louise, for her soothing hands, thanks to Sylvia and Julie for the stats, thanks to Kelly for the amazing photos, (nearly got every try), thanks to our supporters, thanks to our sponsors and finally thanks to Billy Vorderman Riley Pearce for score board duties.
